This page is a forum in which I describe how my faith, values and past experiences shape current experiences. All of this information helps determine not only how I act and react now but also my future plans and goals.
My Background
First and foremost, I am a child of God. I say this not because there is anything special about me except that He chose me to receive His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
I was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on March 2, 1967. I am the youngest of four children. My Dad worked in the open pit iron mines my entire life. When I was one year old we moved from Ishpeming to Negaunee, Michigan.
I attended Negaunee Public Schools through the eighth grade. In April 1981 my Dad was transferred from the Empire to the Republic mines. This was a long-awaited transfer. We moved to Republic in the summer of 1981. During that time the Republic mine shut down. My Dad ended up carpooling to the Tilden Mine in Ishpeming for the remainder of his career.
I graduated from Republic-Michigamme High School in June 1985. I was second in my class, albeit the class was only 29 people! I attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan that fall. I started as a Mechanical Engineering major but ended up switching to Computer Science after the first quarter.
I graduated from Michigan Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in May 1990. During school I worked as a cooperative education student at IBM and Unisys facilities in Minnesota. After graduation I started work for Dow Chemical Company in Midland, Michigan.
I worked for Dow for five years after which I moved to Eagan, Minnesota to work for Analysts International Corporation. In addition to AIC I also worked for Carlson Wagonlit Travel, US Bancorp and Norstan Communications. In August 2000, I started work at Spanlink Communications.
I left Spanlink in May 2004 under the premise of moving to a position with more programming. I sold my house, quit my job and ended up moving back to my parents' home in Watton, Michigan. I returned to work for Spanlink in Feburary 2005. This time I was able to work from home in Upper Michigan. This led me to buy a house in L'Anse, Michigan.
In January 2006 I started dating Sara Frailey. I am blessed and honored to say she and I were married August 12, 2006 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at L'Anse Baptist Church in L'Anse, Michigan. Our life since has been wonderful! She truly is a blessing from God!!! He is constantly at work in our lives leading, protecting and providing for us.
