In 2 Corinthians 5:17 God wrote, through the Apostle Paul, that all who are in Chirst are new creations; old things have passed away and we have become new. This verse is meaningful to me as I walk with Christ each day. I have seen old habits, likes and dislikes pass away and have been transformed into someone new. My old interests are no longer important; living for Him is my strongest desire each and every day.
I entered this world on June 30, 1979 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. I am the youngest of five children. We grew up in an old farmhouse in Augusta, Michigan. We had some small animals such as chickens and cats. At one time I had a pig named Charlotte.
The Lord helped us through difficult times growing up. When I was about thirteen years old my Grandma passed away from cancer. She was a vital part of our life. We moved from Augusta to Gaylord, Michigan when I was entering my freshman year of high school. I graduated from Gaylord High School in 1998. After high school I attended Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan. I graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. After I graduated I followed my parents to L'Anse, Michigan.
My first teaching job was at Sacred Heart Catholic school in L'Anse, Michigan in their Little Hearts Pre-School program. This job allowed my eyes to be open to the Lord and His love for us. Through His Spirit I was led to a deeper understanding of Him and what He wanted for me. I eventually yielded to Him and submitted my life to His will.
In January 2006 I started dating Randy. Our first date was on a snowy evening (January 19). Our relationship grew quickly. On March 31, 2006 he asked me to marry him and I accepted. The following day we went to Home Depot to buy a washer and dryer. The next several weeks were busy planning our wedding. Our lives were joined before God, family and friends on August 12, 2006.
Today we continue to walk with the Lord together. Near the end of the 2008-2009 school year I accepted a position teaching Pre-Kindergarten at the Copper Country Christian School (CCCS) in Chassell, Michigan. By the time the year started, however, I knew my time there was limiited. On August 5, 2009 we heard the heartbeat of our baby for the first time. It was certainly a day of rejoicing in the Lord!!! (We even joked we would be doing cartwheels home from the doctor's office!) Our baby is due in March 2010. This means my role transitions from teacher of other people's children to being a Mommy. Each day with Randy is a blessing from the Lord. I look forward to seeing where the Lord leads our family.
